Wolmark: Priciest Superhero Films

Comic book movies are big business these days, and that is no secret. Year after year they come out as the most financially successful films, attracting some of the greatest actors, and biggest audiences. Superhero stories have become so popular that we’re long past the point that it is only meant for entertaining the comic fans. Zevi Wolmark (see IMDb) is one of those comic fans who grew up with his superhero idols. Superman, Batman, the Flesh, all superheroes were in high demand, but it can’t be even compared with the current situation. It took no time for studios to realize how huge these franchise are, and how much money they can bring. Of course, in order to reach such heights, studios need to invest equally jaw-dropping sums into these movies. Generally speaking all superhero movies are quite expensive, but here Zevi Wolmark will list the priciest superhero film.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012) – $230 Million

The Dark Knight Rises from 2012 is the last installment of the Batman trilogy, and because it is the final one, producers decided to go all in and create the film with a budget of $230 million. Apparently that was a good move because it became one of the highest ranking films. In addition to that, the Juilliard Alumni Wolmark reveals that out of the 10 Batman movies produced by DC and Warner Bros, it is also the highest grossing Batman film.

Man of Steel (2013) – $225 Million

Man of Steel is a reboot of the Superman franchise which explores the origin of Superman aka Clark Kent aka Kal El. Man of Steel was released in 2013, and for its production Marvel put aside a budget of $225 million. Starring Henry Cavill, the film performed well in the box-office, earning over $668 million. However, the overall reception didn’t go all that good. Fans like Wolmark weren’t too satisfied with the character development, because it offered nothing new. Critics also weren’t too happy with the film’s storyline. After some time, Marvel decided that Man of Steel will be the introducing film for their project The Justice League.
